Longtime friends Sander Horsthuis and Huub van den Muijsenbergh had a dream. It was one that they constructed slowly over annual golf trips to Spain, during which they brainstormed about how to bring their shared passion for wine to life by developing a wine concept that would take the market by storm. All this came together in October 2017.
The pair’s backgrounds in wine and marketing – Sander as marketing guru and Huub as the vinologist – provided them with both the impetus, entrepreneurship and the know-how to get this project underway.
Together with the best winemakers in Spain they developed a wine completely to their own needs and taste specifications. They called it V-Rosé.
Here is the complete story of The V-Makers, published in the magazine Foods & Wines from Spain. Read it here
V-Rosé is made at the Bodega producing wines under the Denominación De Origen Valencia.
You will find the vineyards in a completely natural environment at 600 meters altitude. Spectacular for its beauty and exceptional for the cultivation of grapes and olives. There is a unique microclimate with Mediterranean influences. The mountainous terrain ensures that the sun’s rays are perpendicular to the vines. In addition, the mountains offer protection against weather conditions such as frost or hail, which means ripening takes place under perfect conditions.
This explains why every year we speak of an outstanding harvest.
THE MAKING OF
The viticulture can be considered organic, as the treatment of the vines is 100% natural. The viticulture is based on the latest vinification techniques and technologies. The various soil structures are an important basis for producing this delicious wine.
The best grapes from the vineyards are selected at their optimum ripeness. The harvest is received overnight at the winery and immediately followed by the stemming, crushing en pressing.
Apart from the best grapes, the most modern techniques, it is our winemaker who stands every year for the highest quality.
